Roof Studio is built to need as little of your data as possible. This page describes everything the app touches.
When you visualize a color, the photo you chose is sent over an encrypted connection to our rendering service, processed by an AI image model to produce your preview, and returned to your device. The photo and preview are processed transiently: we do not store them on our servers, build profiles from them, use them for advertising, train models on them, or sell them. Our AI processing provider (OpenAI) may retain API inputs briefly (up to 30 days) solely for abuse monitoring, after which they are deleted; that data is not used to train their models.
Photos you take or pick, and looks you save, live on your device in the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes them.
Your roof's install year and material, and your reminder preference, are stored only on your device. Seasonal reminders are local notifications scheduled by iOS on your phone; they never touch a server.
The app asks for camera access only when you choose to take a photo, and uses the iOS photo picker (which shares only the specific images you select). Both are optional - the built-in demo home works without either.
Your first visualization is free. Additional visualizations come in packs of three for $2.99, purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple handles the entire payment; we never see or store your payment details. Your visualization balance is stored only on your device.
We use RevenueCat, a purchase-infrastructure service, to validate purchases and measure aggregate sales. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt and a random app-generated identifier - never your name, email, or payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Roof Studio is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
